I have Evangeline by Longfellow ca. 1870s. More interestingly, an 1892ish bound volume of Chautaquan, a collection of the journals of the Chatautaqua society (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chautaqua), with articles about history, society of the time, customs of calling on people (send a card first, in case there is smallpox in the house), an article promoting bicycling for ladies, and an article by Princeton University Professor Woodrow Wilson.

The oldest book I have is an architectural book from 1933. It covers architectural history from the Egyptians to the modern day. (The modern day is in the 1930s)

My oldest published book is, coincidentally, also my oldest written book. Romance of the Three Kingdoms is from 1959 I think....but the actual book was written sometime in the 14th century AD...

I have a hand written record, written by my ancestor in Old Norse from 852 A.D. ... and I have the handed down Viking Dagger that the record describes. ... as for actual published books, I have several bilingual books published in Hong Kong ... Mandarin Chinese on odd pages and English on even pages ... the oldest was published in 1749.

A partial series of books (only have volumes 2, 4, and 8 to 10) published about World War One (then 'The World War') that were published in 1919. Somewhat biased (obviously toward the Allies) but still lots of good info and some stuff pretty much forgotten today.

I have a book I inherited from my father titled 'Silver Boy'. It is a story about a wolf. I believe it is from the late 1920's.

I've got a book with quite a bit of the family records written in it from my husband's side of the family that is from 1724, a real treasure that somehow is still in storage in the barn next door as I don';t know which box it got placed in when we moved :-(
