well, the story would then include Jesus being gutted, which was not customary in crucifictions. he did have a spear thrust through his side and into his heart.
-
No, the story would not have been any different. He is risen from the dead and would still have risen from the dead, regardless of the circumstances and regardless of what they may have done to Him.

In Matthew 4 Satan temps Jesus to jump off of a tall building: "Then the Devil took him along into the holy city, and he stationed him upon the battlement of the temple and said to him: “If you are a son of God, hurl yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will give his angels a charge concerning you, and they will carry you on their hands, THAT YOU MAY AT NO TIME STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’” Jesus said to him: “Again it is written, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’”" (Mat 4:5-7) Satan here knew that there was one thing that could not happen to Jesus' body, namely that he could not break a bone. This is reflected later at Jesus death: "Then the Jews, since it was Preparation, in order that the bodies might not remain upon the torture stakes on the Sabbath, (for the day of that Sabbath was a great one,) requested Pilate to have their legs broken and the bodies taken away. The soldiers came, therefore, and broke the legs of the first man and those of the other man that had been impaled with him. But on coming to Jesus, as they saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Yet one of the soldiers jabbed his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he that has seen it has borne witness, and his witness is true, and that man knows he tells true things, in order that YOU also may believe. In fact, these things took place in order for the scripture to be fulfilled: "NOT A BONE OF HIS WILL BE CRUSHED" [Ps 34:20]. And, again, a different scripture says: “They will look to the One whom they pierced.[Zec 12:10]" (John 19:31-37). I suppose the Bible would have to change to say "They will look upon the one who was gutted." Thats a fabulous picture of course.

He was tormented, tortured, brutally beaten and flogged, humiliated, thorns jabbed into his scull and finally nailed, hung and also STABBED with a spear straight through and water and blood poured out - not 'gutted' enough for you??? And why would more brutality make a difference? A different to what exactly?

Stick with answers #2 and 4 - they tell you all you need to know. The others appear to be flights of fancy, lacking any scriptural basis.
