My Uncle gave a car to my mother. She and her husband have separated. She let her husband use the car to leave town, and now he refuses to return it. Her name is the only one on the title and she pays the insurance. Can she have the car repossessed?

I am in the same situation. The only recourse is to go to the city in which the person now reside have the local authorities meet you there, show the title and the police will make the person give you back the car. OR If your mother has the key and go to the city hop in the car and drive off. Or in my case, I hired a repo company that do private repo's. My car was taken to WI. A state that didn't allow private repo's before 4/16/06.I followed the guidlines of the law and it worked. I had to pay for repo fees and fees to have my car shipped from WI. to TN. It costed me a little over 1,000.00 but it was well worth it!!!!!!!!!! I could file a small claims case to recover the fees I spent, I just might. Good luck.
