Well, my one friend used the live on a farm, nest to a game resort. One morning when he wake up, he saw a buffalo standing at his pool, drinking water. So he shouts at his wife: "Lenie, bring my hunting rifle". Fortunatelly she convinced him to call the resort. Afterwards they told him that if he had shot the buffalo, he would have to pay R120 000.00!

Well, a funny one. No scary ones. We have a "cat door" in our back porch, which is closed in. Not long ago some baby opossums came in..through the cat's door. There were about four or five of them (we are not really sure). They wandered all over the house....We would find them in the strangest places. One crawled into bed with my niece, who was on a visit from college. She thought it was the cat. She found it early in the morning and "freaked out"! (LOL!) Actually they are harmless. We finally got them all rounded up and took them to the local "stray animal" place. They take care of them and introduce them back into the wild when they are old enough.

Not terribly funny, but thought provoking. Back at the old house we had one of those wall heaters that blows hot air everywhere. Anyway, the cat, after it's initial surprise upon discovering the heater that winter, would sit in front of it (as cats do). It was during the times when it was off that she'd sniff and put her paw in the outlet and search and seek. We thought it was just her being curious and thought nothing of it. After a while it got beyond a joke: she was pouncing at the walls and clawing the nearby furniture. At the same time I managed to drop a power cord down the back of the television (near the heater). I swore and cursed, but I couldn't reach the cable. Reaching further in with my hand I heard a hiss, at which I rapidly withdrew my hand and peeled myself off the roof! Turns out it was a rather ticked off blue tongued lizard hiding behind the cabinet. Goodness know how he got there, but he'd been munching on some of the creepy crawlies that go back there (and leaving some deposits at the same time). The cat took one sniff and, curiosity satisfied, went off to have a wash. We picked him up and placed him out in the garden. I hope he's ok. But now, when the cat stares at something, we take her seriously (she's been right everytime, too).

I had a bat flying around my bedroom once. It was quite comical trying to get the stupid thing to fly out the window

A squirrel came down the chimney once when I was a kid. All I remember was creating a barracade at my door and my father running around the house, accomplishing very little. lol

A bird got into our basement. I went downstairs and all of a sudden something flew past my head. It kind of freaked me out. I ran upstairs and waited for my husband to come home to let it out.

I was a teen living with my aunt and uncle when a bat came out of the fire place. It was hilarious to me. My aunt was running around the L.R. with a broom trying to knock it to the floor. This went on about 10 min. My uncle and I were exhausted from laughing so much. My aunt even laughed at the end.

Used to get swallows nesting in the roof outside my bedroom window, and they had to do a vertical climb to get into the hole - more than once one ended up in the bedroom. Getting them out again wasn't easy...

Our house in Indiana had a hole in the front porch roof just by the guttering. About 5am every morning, 2 raccoons would climb up the pillars at the front of the house, clomp onto the porch roof outside the bedroom window, climb down into the hole, then walk under the bedroom floor (and above the downstairs ceiling!) to the back of the house, where they were nesting. It used to sent the cocker spaniel wild! Fortunately, some ammonia soaked rags and blocking up the hole got rid of them...

I used to feed peanuts to the squirrels in the front yard of my old house. They got so accustomed to me that 1 or 2 of them would actually come up and take the peanut out of my hand. Then, they got a bit more brazen and would stand at the front door and wait for me. My house was old and the foundation had settled and there was a 2 inch gap between the concrete step and the bottom of the storm door. A squirrel poked his head between the gap and wiggled his way into the house and was standing in the foyer by the door waiting for his peanut. It scared the crap out of me and I guess it did him too cause he ran out the door and never tried that again! But he'd still stand outside and wait for me!

We have small grey squirrels where i live, and a few people feed them. Several of them will come right up and sniff my fingers, and if I have a peanut they will stand there and gently pick it out of my fingers with their hands. No snatching or anything, they are very tame.

It sounds really cool being able to get them to freeze just like that. I think they look kind of cute.
