Men are also afraid of commitment. Edit: Has he been willing to represent you to family and/or friends as someone he is seeing exclusively and is he willing to show by his actions toward you that you are special to him? (ex: Flowers, candy, some dates planned around what you like to do etc.)?

Most guys are afraid to tell someone they "love" them because they are scared to get into a commitment they dont want to be in or cant handle. they're also afraid that the other person wont say it back and it will just be hanging out there, basically, commitment and rejection

I promise you, it's not only guys. Someone says they love me, it scares the hell out of me. I mean, it's suddenly all this pressure, and now everything seems so serious and set in stone, its a very big and scary step!

love is not the word that most men are shy about. Men do not like the pressure of being the knight in white to a women. Women have unrealistic demands of their men. In the same way that they need their wedding exactly perfect. Love is exactly that, love. Most people do not understand love.

Not all guys are shy with it. Their level of comfort with the L word depends on how freely it was used in the household they were raised in.

The first time I told my girlfriend I loved her was nerveracking for me. Guys are afraid if they tell a woman they love them, that they will get a response they were not expecting, such as no response, possibly. They are afraid woman do not love them. This is why when my girlfriend told me that she loved me for the first time, and I could tell she was serious, I knew that I loved her back and I could tell her that without fear.

Who said guys are shy with the Love word?.. I've not met a guy who is shy with the Love word.. Unless the Love word wasn't meant for you.. then you will get no Love word.. We are affraid of rejection.. but so are women.. If WE are shy with the love word.. Then so are women.. IF the woman in a relationship tells us they love us, and it's mutual.. then we can say it.. Real Men do not hide behind their ideas of being "macho".. If real men can't face up to his own emotions and recognize his feelings.. his affections.. then he is not a Man.. Real Men know how they feel, Confidence makes a real Man, so if a Man loves somebody and KNOWS he loves somebody, then he will say it. but if he is insecure.. he will not say it. Because he knows Not too.. Women make men insecure.. best you say it first hehe
