Wait on her hand and foot. Don't let her get up and do stuff unless it's absolutely necessary. My mom had one and she needed to take it easy for a few weeks and that isn't usually possible with a man in the mix and a lazy son. Your partner is blessed to have you.

Number one with any type of pain is to never let it get to the point where you can't deal with it...on a scale of about 1-10 when you start to feel the pain is about a 5 ..That is the time to act!!..don't wait until the pain gets worse. It will just be harder to get under control again...I think that maybe Kristie needs more pain meds...but I am sure she has them...however playing brave won't work..In my book on my upcoming hip replacement it says as much "never let your pain get above a level 3 or 4"..also try to stay reasonably active and interested in things..relax...think positively (you are getting better) and don't push yourself"..but if her pain is getting progressively worse and she develops a fever or has a pain in a new part of her body..see a doctor immediately...

I'm sorry, she's not feeling well. What about a heating pad? BTW, that's a great idea to not take pain meds in she can help it, they're addicting for alot of people, like 2 in my family

What a shame, tell her im thinking of her. I think aside from painkillers she should do as little as possible, and get plenty rest.

My mum had a hysterectomy about 4 years ago. The doctor said she shouldn't even lift a kettle for a few weeks. It wasn't just the pain and discomfort that upset my mum- she suffered severe boredom from sitting around the house doing nothing, trying to recover. She was bored to the point of breaking down a couple times. You both have to weather through it. Within a few weeks she should start getting back to her old self. I hope she feels better soon.
