of course, DC's not even trying

I think DC has done a much better job representing the actual characters laid out in the comic book. They didn't try to put some popular trendy twist on them Like marvel did with crapy love stories etc. Just my opinion. Although a lot also has to do with the directer. Like Tim burtons batmans where good but all the other that followed where horrible until now.

Well the new batman movies are awesome and do a fantastic job of bringing Gotham City to life. I also loved Batman the animated series, which was the best ever cartoon series based on a super hero comic in my opinion. As for the Catwoman movie, it was load of bollocks, but I had a strange appreciation for it as they made it quite clear that it wasn't supposed to be a spin-off from Batman, and I thought it was presented quite well, unlike certain superhero movies which are over-crowded and have crappy treatment of popular characters.

I think Marvel was doing an excellent job until this current trend of having all movies lead up to an Avengers movie. I like the idea of everybody having their own franchise. Spiderman, despite the weak third entry, is still the best comic book franchise. I am probably the only person in America who will say this, but I believe The Dark Knight is vastly overrated. Don't get me wrong, I think it is a good movie. But, did it really deserve to pass Star Wars on the all-time box office gross list? I think people got caught up the in the whole Heath Ledger mystique. Also, why is it every second part of a superhero franchise seems to have a storyline involving the hero wanting to stop being a superhero?(i.e. Superman II, Spiderman II, The Dark Knight.)
