when you tell a girl that (not exactly what was said above, but along those lines) is it b/c u like her as a friend or is it b/c your attracted/interested in her?

Don't call guys unless you are returning his call or he is just a friend. Period. If a guy likes you he will call you. And if he doesn't then go find a guy who does like you! Anybody else is a waste of your time.

Well I can not say specifically what it means when other guys do it to you, however, I can tell you why I do it. Usually I will call a girl about 2-3 days after getting her phone number. Now I do not want to spend too much time with her on the phone, as it makes us guys seem desperate. So, what I usually say is that I just called to chat for a minute and to see what her schedule is going to be like for the next few days. Usually after I get that information I will tell her that I have some errands to run (almost always true) so that she knows I have my own life, and am not looking for her to be the centerpiece right away. It is just usually about playing the game.
