How come the sims2 site doesn't provide the normal sims2 game for the pc when you register?

Because you need the disk to be able to play. You can register for the website, but this only gives you access to the forums, objects and lots. Not the actual game. Registration is free, so if you expect the game free when you register then the company would be wasting money.
