If you do, don't ever discuss any details of the relationship with your friend. S/he might get upset or use said info against his/her sibling during an argument or to embarass them in front of the family. Always say "Everything is fine" rather than "none of your business" or risk alienating your friend.

Like I've said in a similar querstion this isn't Italy in the 1600s. Your friend's siblings are free to make their own decisions in life. So if you feel this person is right for you by all means go for it. If your friend can't stand it well that's their problem.
