  • I think it's just something to make you not pierce it. You could ask the Piercer if you are really concerned
  • hype, but the person who does the piercing should inform you of all the side effects, if they don't they don't know what they are doing.
  • I would ask and get all the info first
  • You need some smarter friends. Seriously.
  • I have heard that too, and maybe it could be true, but if you think about it you probably haven't ever heard of it happening to anybody. Really, any professional that is peircing your tongue would know exactly what to do so there really wouldn't be anything to worry about.
  • im not sure about paralyzed for life, but i have heard that there are lots of nerves in there so if you dont know what youre doing its pretty dangerous. but if you have a professional, with a certificate do it then you'll be fine.
  • ROFLMAO!! Do your friends come from Stupidville too, or did you just infect them with your stupidity?
  • Your kids are way too cute to be your genetic offspring... maybe your good churchgoing woman schtupped someone besides your chipmunk ass?
  • i`ll do it for you and show you what happens when i hit that nerve. call me
  • This is my uneducated answer. Me, being the klutz that I am fell and bit a hole clean through my tongue when I was 9. I still am completely mobile but now I hate broth and vanilla ice cream. I'd be more worried about potential food aversions.
  • If there was that much of a risk, it wouldn't be a legal piercing. It can be dangerous, don't get me wrong. There have been cases where people have got infections or reacted badly to the piercing and their tongues have swollen up so much that they've been suffocated, but this is extremely rare. If this was a huge risk, it wouldn't be such a popular piercing. There are two veins that run on the underside of your tongue, sometimes one running down the midddle, and if you pierce through those then you can be pretty screwed. Chances of piercing through those, though, is slim to none. If you go to a reputable piercer, you should have no problems at all. I'll tell you a little horror story, which happened to my sisters ex. He got his tongue pierced, it was fine for a couple of days, just the usual swelling etc. He didn't look after this piercing at all. He ate what he wanted, solid salty and hot foods, he carried on smoking, and he took drugs (skunk and a bit of coke, twat.) He woke up one day to almost being drowned in blood. It bled so much that it soaked its way through 3 pillows and his mattress, and his mouth was also full. He took the peircing out, but he had a very close call there. So another word of advice, to avoid complications, LISTEN TO YOUR PIERCER, the aftercare advice is there for a reason. It's not supposed to be ignored. If you do what they say, then you'll have no problems at all.
