If you are young and would be into a really cool beach atmosphere and party scene, I would highly recommend Costa Del Sol which is the southern coast of Spain. Towns such as Torremolinos and Malaga are awesome. Also driving through the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain is a life changing experience because it is so beautiful and majestic.

Oh ya I forgot to answer the question the way it was asked. But several years ago I went to South America just to go there and see Rio De Janerio it was the time of my life. I flew from Vancouver to T,O. Tronto Ontario for 3 hrs and had a lay over and I went got a room at the Sandman right out side the airport. I then proceeded to Brazil that taking 9.5 hrs. And once we started our accention I looked at the green jungle below and I mean it went for hundreds of miles in all direction. As we started comming down from sub zero temperature to 42 degrees celsius. It was kind of neat to look at the ventelation system start to suck up all of the fog that was trying to fill up the passenger area.Once we were out of the cloud so to speak we flew into San Paulao droped some people off and then we flew north east to Rio. As soon as I got off the plane I went to customs and got my luggage. No sooner did I leave the airconditioned air port into the heat of brazil it was so hot and there's Canadian me 18years old wearing my Canadian Storm Rider fleece lined Jean jacket, and to top it off I was wearing black 501 jeans. To make along story short I got to my room The Hotel Canada in Rio de Janerio and systematically jumped into a cold shower until my airconditioning was fixed. I tried to get as comfortable as possible but it only worked for a while. It took about 1`0 for me to climatize but I did. And no sooner did I start to feel better and I went to a cafe and ate a corned beef sandwhich that Montezuma to out all of his revenge quaranting me to the hotel until I got some proper medication. The most popular site in Rio is the Sugar loafe, a statue of Jesus. And I paid a taxi driver to take me to the sites of interest, in an Airconditioned Mercedez Benz and it cost like 20 dollars a day, I got him to take me to the Jungle North of Rio and me and the Taxi driver's son went into the Jungle for several hours, it was freaky, for the closest thing to a jungle I have been is the rain forest in the lower mainland of British Columbia. But in the amazonian jungle it rains for several hours after it officially stops, this happens because of the foliage that catches the rain making it seem like it is raining under a clear sky. It is absolutly amazing a must see. Rio is a nation of the really rich, europeans and such, and the extremly poor. There was approximatly 3.5 million people in Rio when I was there. One thing that a person has to watch is the money it seems that the uncertainty of some governments that leave a economy with several currencies. The best thing for me was to take travelors cheqes but not many. Trade your money with trustworthy currency exchagers, don't exchange in your country of orgin at home. You will only get the going international rate. you will get a way better exchange rate in Rio de Janerio. Remember that Canadian and American money sell for the same price. Many people will be at the airport waiting to buy your Canadian, and American cash. The people want it because it is a relativley stable currencies. Beware of the money being used. some other money like the cruzadoes may well be worthless. when I was in Brazil there was an attemted coup de tete, and the governmetn had to print off a whole new currency, I bought stacks of this money and brought it home as gifts to people and it really looks good having stacks of money. Be careful of the military police. They are the muscle and they know it. If you are in a pub or somewhere and you walk it to a pub with them sitting there, quietly leave. and if they walk in on you in a pub buy them a round right there on the spot this will save your ass from any kind of intimidation and extortion, and you can't do nothing about it, but this is a way to avoid trouble.Trust me the military police are as bad as their reputaion, and they have castrated men for looking at Brazilina women.Just make a point, because some European Rich kids raped a women and the police didn't want it to happen again.
