  • Hi. Our dog also has doggy dandruff. Obveously check your dog thoroughly and make sure they are not little flea eggs, and if so get your dog, his bed and anywhere he has ben treated quickly. However if its not fleas your dog could just have dry skin like ours. we took him to the vet to make sure everything was ok and basically he said that it is basically the same as our dandruff, as it is just dry dead skin that obveously flakes off. All we do is; instead of the shampoo we used to bath him in we have this medicated shampoo which helps to clear off all the dead skin and flakes and it also promotes a healthy coat and skin. It does help a lot and then apart from that just make sure to keep grooming your dog to keep getting all the muck and flakes off. The vet said that this would not cure him overnight of his dry skin but it would help a lot and it will just sort itself out eventually. Oh also, when washing your dog make sure you rinse thoroughly as dried shampoo etc can seem like dandruff when its not. Hope this helps. Sorry its a bit of a lengthy answer. :)
  • Oh, one more thing that i forgot to say. I would advise taking your dog to the vet for just a simple check up like we did ours because the vet did say that it was good that we brought our dog in as The presence of dandruff can sometimes indicate skin infections or allergies. Like i said nothing more than a change of shampoo was needed for our dog but its better to be safe.
