  • I personally dont think so. I think flying is safer and more convenient. Theres no drunk pilots for one, no careless pilots either, and i dont have to stay awake at the wheel :) LOL
  • Statistically, flying is safer then driving.
  • Well, flying is supposed to be safer. It's just that when one crashes the lose of life is dramatically different than a car accident. Let's face it, there's more room in the sky then on the road,ha. Statitics do say flying is safer.
  • no. because flying is up out of the way of common accidents. they're are so many drivers right next to eachother on the roads traveling as fast and as careless as they want, but when you flya trained proffessional flys the plane with all sorts of saftey precausions and you never see two plane pass side by side do you.
  • I've never been in a plane flown by a sixteen year old who got his license after a 6 week training course, and a semesters worth or boring lectures/slideshows. Yeah if a plane crashes at 600 mph you are probably more likely to die than if a car crashes at 55 but there is no way its more dangerous.
  • No. Statistics prove more people are killed each year ON AVARAGE when putting their pants on than in planes. Though I wonder...how can you get killed putting your pants on? it's a helluva way to go IMHO.
  • No. Pilots get warned if they come within a certain distance (1 nautical mile?) of another plane. A new jet pilot has been flying other planes for years as oppose to the 50 hours required for a driver's license. The only reason planes seem more dangerous is because in the rare event of a crash it is usually fatal and because of the media coverage. Every so often you'll see news coverage of a plane crash in a country you've never heard of, but when's the last time you saw coverage of an accident outside or your county?
