I live in Washington State. My wife was walking our miniture dog on a leash when the neighbors dog (a jindo) ran up behind her and latched onto my dog and killed it. What is my legal recourse?

I'd say your neighbor owes you a new pet. Get a lawyer to make this happen.

Sorry this is a cliche, but I promise you this comment - it is genuine. I am extremely sorry about your loss, I know what it is to lose a dog, no matter in what way. It is a heart-wrenching pain... but you will be fine. Shit happens, you know? And it's not only you, it's half the world that is worried, sad, angry and upset. What can I say? C'est la vie...

Sorry this isn't exactly an answer, because I simply don't know. I am too stupid and young. However, I hope I have connected with you on an emotional level.

Get a lawyer. Your neighbor is liable for his pet's actions, but you can't do it without a good lawyer.
