This isn't technically a glitch, just a really REALLY annoying feature of AB. If you commented on an answer say, 6 months ago, and then someone later flags the original question as a dupe, it will usually get merged with another question. Once a dupe is merged into another question, all related comments are re-activated as "new" comments. Since your comment history only lets you go back 5 pages, usually it's impossible to see what the reactivated comment is, unless the question got merged within the last few hours or days. You can just go to your profile page and click "mark all as read" to get rid of this annoyance.
