No, and I seriously doubt any of my friends or relatives would either. In fact, I can't think of anyone I know who chose a name for their child because a politician had that name.

Hey when i was younger in the 80's Hussein was coming in , i meet three Hussein in one day out of knowing everyone in the are for 2 months and research for the last 2 years in one community even though i think Hussein is a good name
-
Heck no. Besides, I think most people probably think of the OTHER Hussein when they hear that name. The name has too many negative connotations now, kind of like naming your child Adolph or Pol Pot.
-
No. Why would I name my child after an American?
-
No. Wouldn't go with my Frence first name and my German last name. Actually it would really sound bad.
-
Nah. It would be terrible having second graders taunting my kid and asking him "who's sane?!!!!!!!"
-
I have never thought much about it.Hussein is a name like any other name.He is a popular president and these type of popularity things do happen.A lot named there kid Brittney as well.In Germany many still name their kids Adolf.
-
meh, there are better names that i'd prefer to name their children, but i don't think i'd ever name my child after a politician to begin with.

I read that article, and I think you misinterpreted what's going on. Parents aren't naming their children Hussein, nor are people legally changing their names to incorporate Hussein. People are adding "Hussein" to their online handles to poke fun at the cretins who attempt to take credit away from Barack Obama by insisting on calling him Hussein Obama. Gotta love stupid people who think they're being clever.

Semitic names have been used in the English language for a very long time. Do you know that "Benjamin" is a semitic name? "Let us take Benjamin Franklin. His first name is from the Hebrew Bin Yamin, the son of the Right (hand), or son of strength, or the son of the South (yamin or right has lots of connotations). The "Bin" means "son of," just as in modern colloquial Arabic. Bin Yamin Franklin is not a dishonorable name because of its Semitic root. By the way, there are lots of Muslims named Bin Yamin". I personally believe that children should have names according to their last name. Imagine how awful it would be to be named "Anibal Ricardo Smith" or "Luciano Stevens". Thus I have named my boys with solid Scott names that match their last name. If you wish to read an Informed Comment of the many Semitic names in our language and within the US history please read the enclosed link. http://www.juancole.com/2008/02/barack-hussein-obama-omar-bradley.html Cheers to you.

KD Hussein Michaels just doesn't flow very well, does it? No, I wouldn't consider it. Nothing personal, it's just not my favorite of names.
-
I don't see anything wrong with the name. But I wouldn't name any of my kids that because of the fact that it is associated with Obama and Saddam. And Rachel Hussein M. just sounds dumb! : D
-
no, it reminds me of Sadam.
