Attempts to explain natural phenomenon before the existence of science.

Our ancestors who were trying to make sense of their lives just as we create "myths" to make sense of ours. We look for reasons, purpose, meaning, value and come up with our own myths that we pass on to those who follow us, while keeping alive the myths which were handed to us by those who came before us. :)
