  • If it's crusty,maybe you have an allergy to the metal. If your earlobe is sore, red, swollen, then it's infected. Put neosporin or some antibiotic crean on the front and back of both ears, everyday. Turn them gently, the earrings twice a day..Only do this a day after you put antibiotic ointment on it, so the crusty stuff doesn't pull the healing skin.
  • Almost all healing piercings lymph, and the lymph fluid dries to a crust. It's totally normal. Remove it with a q-tip after soaking or showering. Don't pick it off.
  • I had to switch to plastic because of recurring infections. I would say smell will tell you if it is infected. It don't smell good at all.
  • mine got crusty..it wasnt infected though..its perfectly normal.. make sure you clean it with antibacterial soap for the first 4-6 weeks.. if you use alcohol it will dry it out.. hope that helps
