  • I have an 03 T.B. & by "Design" (probably not an air wrench) they do get tight (steel into aluminum). It requires a #14 mm. 6 point socket to keep from "Rounding Off" the corners of the bolt & a Long Breaker Bar. I'll presume Ur past that however & now it's time for the "Secret Tool"??? So, use a "Pipe Wrench" or (if U have one) an old "Smooth Jawed Stillson Wrench" that grips tighter on the worn bolt head, the harder U try to remove it!!! Remember, this is a "Last Ditch Effort" & of course means buying a new "Drain Plug". Before twisting anything, take a Ball Peen Hammer & strike the bolt squarely on the "Bolt Head" a few times. This is called "Upsetting the Threads" & will help loosen it. Go easy, as it is an aluminum oil pan & will crack. Several light blows will be effective. Adjust the "Grip" of the wrench to grab 2 parallel sides of the bolt head securely when pressure is applied. Re-adjust if it starts slipping as U don't want to remove metal from the bolt head. Now when removed, clean the pan surface dry. The new oil plug should come with an "O Ring" for sealing. Use a little bit of Silicone Sealer on the surface of the bolt at this point. It is NOT for "Sealing", rather like a "Rubber Washer" for compressing so U can loosen the bolt easier next time!!! Use enough so that it will "Squish Out" & then wipe off excess. John
