I take it from the tone of your question that your son should'nt be responsible for the damages. OK...if not.........then you should be paying the damages.

No contest simply means you except the responsibility and do not wish to fight the charge. A no contest plea requires that you admit to the charges for the instant hearing, but it protects you from having the pleas used against you later. Thus, it is proper for a judge to order restitution because your son admitted to the charges for that hearing.
