Is it true that men, these days, whould rather go for the slim model-type-o-girls then for (what once was) the 'classic' (pear-shaped) beauty?

I wouldn't presume to speak for men as a whole, but pretty much every man I have ever spoken to about the issue claims they prefer a curvy (Marilyn Monroe type)woman to a slim (Twiggy type) woman. Its worth remembering that the modern fashion industry is dominated by women and gay men- therefore is not a great indication of what heterosexual men find sexy.

Last Sunday's paper reported on a survey in which the overwhelming makority of men preferred that "nicely rounded" body to the skinny model. Of course, this was a Sunday paer survey and not that reliable. However, every real survey I have seen says that men prefer a curvy shape to a bony one. I certainly do. As Lady F has said, models are chosen by the fashion industry. How many wome wear the creations you see on the catwalks - and how many men would want to be with women wearing such extraordinary things? The same goes for the models - those models are no more for ordinary dating than the clothes are for ordinary wearing.

NO WAY!!! A girl with nice curves and great boobs is great! My perfect girl is a UK size 18/20. Skinny girls have no boobs and dont keep u warm at nite!!!

Check out the book Men Have Sperm, Women Have Eggs. In it they talk about how men who prefer the waif girls usually aren't looking for a serious relationship. But the men who go for women who actually have hips and that 'coke bottle' shape are seeking a real lasting relationship. So if you have some shape to you and a guy says he goes for the skinny girls? Pass him up - he's not ready yet.

Proportions matter more than size. Scientists have proven that men are most attracted to a .7 hip to waist ratio (waist size divided by hip size) They're also looking into stomach protrusion as a factor. What we're physically attracted to is based on what kept us alive in prehistoric times. If a woman's health were poor or her hips too narrow she could die in labor. Because of modern medicine these things don't matter so much. Physical attraction is mostly superficial. Some men are better than others at seeing what really matters. But physical attraction is all about health. If you are in good health then you are attractive.
