  • I doubt he intended to imply that babies are less important than your cellphone. He likely meant that, while you do not normally need a baby in a supermarket you will likely notice the lack of a wallet when going to check out, so you will remember it is in the car. Especially if the baby is sleeping, it is very easy to overlook it if you are not yet used to carrying the baby around a lot. Your cellphone or wallet you have probably been using/carrying for years and you are used to checking for it when getting out of the car.
  • Somebody [the "doctor"!? - if he/she is REAllY a doctor.] DEFINITELY has his/her poriorities screwed up! Personally, I think the "doctor" is sitting on his/her brains. In the Philadelphia area on June 23, 2008, a Grandfather left his 8-month young infant grandchild in a 140+ degree F. car for 5 hours. He "forgot" to take the baby to daycare. The baby was on life-support for 5 days. Sad to say, the infant passed away. "Grandfather" was charged with involuntary manslaughter and neglect. He has to live with it the rest of his life. Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it! VTY, Ron Berue Yes, that is my real last name! Sources: Because you asked.
  • Often, a parent of a newborn is sleep-deprived. This can make them forgetful in quite a number of ways. The doctor wasn't saying that these things are more important than the child. It has been noted in the news that children have been left in cars. He was proposing a responsible solution. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this.
  • Yeah, right...Probably around the same time DRs. had a good recommendation.
