  • In the near future no. The problem with the A380 is that it is so big that they have to build new terminals just to fit them, and because it is french many companies don't want to buy them (american companies) they'd rather buy boeing because it's american, and Boeing is currently developing a new bigger plain that will be larger than the 747 but will still be able to dock in the terminals most airports have now. And the airbus requires a larger runway because of government regulations (in the us).
  • I think that those airlines based here in the States(Delta, who inherited their 747's from NWA, and United) that use the Boeing 747 will continue to do so. Time will tell, IMHO, how many airlines opt for the bigger Airbus jet. The fact that SINGAPORE AIRLINES opted to put the 380 into service is proof that the A380 has potential, the airline is known to implement the newest, and best, equipment of any airline. And the A380 is not just a 'French' plane. The parts for it come from many countries, some of the parts come from right here in the USA. The FINAL ASSEMBLY PLANT is what's in France, Toulouse to be exact. Both the Boeing 747 and 777 series, the parts also come from some other countries besides the US, the FINAL ASSEMBLY PLANT is in Everett, Washington.
  • Possibly but due to Boeing having a large installed base it would take time. However Boeing have come back with launching the 787 next year and the 747-8
