My mother has a red, itchy rash with blisters on her ankles, arms, knees, and on the insides of her elbows. The Dr. said it was not poison ivy or oak, and gave her antibiotics. She's had it for more than a week, it seems to be spreading. What could it be?

I'd go see a different Dr. if I were her. Find out what it is not what it isn't!

My goodness..some of these doctors hand out antibiotics like candy. Unless she has some type of infection, it won't do any good. See a good Dermatologist, not a general doc. Try Eucerin anti-itch spray or lotion until you get in to the doctor.
