He was the beginning of a completely new civilization, that has given the world some of its most beautiful art and architecture as well as being the conduit of the knowledge of the ancients to the west which fed into all the modern sciences. He uplifted the Arabs from being the sort of people who would kill their female children and treat women like property to become people of the highest nobility of character. He brought a revolution in the ideas of religious tolerance which he enshrined in law and likewise women's rights. It's a shame a lot of Muslims today fail to live up to his example.
