Could be a sprain, if it is a big dog (esp boxers) they may not cry and some will even run on a broken leg. A sprained tendon or ligament could be the problem.

My own dog occasionally limps on his hind leg. Like yours, he doesn't pull away or cry out. My vet explained that being such a small dog, he has arthritis. It could be that

Try wetting his pads and if anything is stuck in his pad it usually shows up slightly darker when wet.

My dog has been also limping. We especially notice it right after he we come home. We have a small dog and brought him to the vet a month ago. Where told that his radius bone has grown longer then normal, which makes it sore usually after he has been resting. We are told he might need surgery to fix this. They also mentioned that this is common in small dogs. If he is still limping you might want to think about bringing him in and getting x-rays done to see what's wrong.

One of our 5 dogs limps as well. It started last year. There are a lot of potential reasons. Where do you live? We are in AZ where Valley Fever (fungal infection) is common and can cause a limp. The first time he was limping, we tested him 3 times and all came back negative. X rays didn't show much. We eventually just put him on the anti-fungal and it went away. This year he is limping on his other front leg. We put him back on the medication about 3 weeks ago and no improvement yet. Could be a sprain/fracture, infection, some joint disease we don't know of yet, etc. For a limp there are a lot of possibilities. I would go to your vet to try and rule out some of the obvious answers, and if you are in an area with a high risk of fungal infections, do it soon. It can lead to a lot worse. If it's just damage from running around, they can get you a pain reliever (Rimadyl is what we have... get it online, it's about 1/2 the price of the vet's version).

After this amount of time has passed with no improvement, you should take him to the vet. Bassets tend to have joint problems. You may be looking at the early onset of arthritis. or some other serious problem that needs early detection.
