You don't. You take it down to your local Harley-Davidson dealership and trade it in on a 2008 Ultra Classic Electraglide. ; ))

At the rear of the trunk on the inside there is a removable panel that allows access to the trunk latch and saddle bag latch mechanisms. You will see a little plastic collar at the end of the saddle bag release cables it has 3 grooves in it. I had to move mine to the center groove and this fixed my saddle bag opening problem.
