There are a few: http://www.word-detective.com/ <-- If you want to know the history of a word or phrase this is one of the best places to start. Plus there are links to other good word sites http://www.etymonline.com/ <-- etymological dictionary http://www.snopes.com/ <-- great resource for checking the veracity of the myriad e-mail alerts, phenomena etc. http://www.imdb.com/ <-- movie database http://www.straightdope.com/ <-- great place to get answers to obscure questions. Don't know if you've noticed but I'm a dork.

Even with all it's supposed faults and errors, I still get more from wikipedia than any other site.
