  • A game where the sides can (and do) repeat the moves indefinitely is ended as a draw. Various leagues have different rules on this, typically repetition of the same move 5 times. This is, of course, provided that it's not a timed game.
  • if two kings have both lost their armies and are still willing to hop around on the board as the last two men with no arms and one leg in a butt-kicking contest then yes it can go on forever.
  • Once the game reaches a certain point its a draw -- like king Vs King and 2 knights or King and Rook vs King and rook. But some beginners would probably move the pieces around for a good 15-20 minutes before realizing it...
