  • one sixth of the picture representation at the time. if the picture is a rgb color scale and missing the r and g colors! the television picture displays half of the lines at any given time(odds then evens) if the picture is green lines bouncing back and fourth then this is the answer. if not then smack the stupid thing and check connections if still does not work then buy a new one!
  • Are the green lines completely horizontal, or somewhat at an angle? If they are at an angle, you have a problem with the beam not getting suppressed during the vertical retrace (when the beam resets from the bottom to the top after a complete scan of one frame). Unless the TV is very new still (not many CRTs around anymore), I'd just get a new set rather than fix this one... that is if it's really bothering you.
