I suffer from bi-polar, and two years ago i used to cut my self to disasociate my feelings to. Firstly think what a good person you are & secondly get help from your doctor. I did I am now on Efexor medication and it is so much better. Don't suffer in silence. The internet is a friendly place to (sometimes) if you need a friend to talk to. Im here anyway. But only you can make the desicion. Good luck. :-)

I think the only way to do that is therapy so you can find out what causes you to have those episodes, if you cant get any kind of psychological therapy for the moment you should try to identify on your own whats the trigger it could be different situations each time but the feeling its always similar, hope this helps a bit.

I am a recovering self injurer so i can totally get your standpoint from this, if its the flashbacks that trigger this then i would recommend seeing a councilor and talking about it, because cutting is only a symptom of bigger problems, and it will most likely dissipate on its own if you take care of the cause.

Cutting is usually a coping mechanism for a sense of loss of control. When you disassociate or flashback, you feel out of control but cutting is something you can control no matter what. It is something your mind feels it has to do in order to cope. There are other mechanisms for coping that are far easier on your health and a good professional will guide you in their types and uses. Don't be afraid to ask for help, it is a lot easier than continuing the way you're going... please believe me. Hope this helps.

if you tell people about it like you just did it helps quite a bit! you probably are mad at yourself for things you are keeping inside so you take it out on the outside i am guessing that you probably think you look better on the outside than you do on the inside so keep them according with each other. which is what you should do because if nobody knows what you did then secrets will eat you up inside. if cutting makes you feel happy then you should be able to do it without getting medicated by some facility or something but its always a better release to talk about it to people. its making you ugly and opening you up to disease but its helping you not do it to "us" because you are fucking pissed off right now and need to vent! its all good we all have a way of release for me its drinking to much but i have realized it and choose to keep doing it but i will stop eventually
