I've been told that a good travel rule of thumb is "Never pay to ride a camel". Do you have any travel short-takes you'd care to share?

Well, I can say that I HAVE ridden two camels in past two months (Dubai and Stuart Wells, Australia) plus an elephant (Thailand) and feel no worse the wear. :-)
