  • Its all really just a money eating fad, Like "wankster" or "G-ride" its all something that kids (mabye even adults) do to act cool. Like Vanilla Ice(dimonds)
  • It's people that feel inferior because they're broke...but if they "represent" via "bling" then they can feel "baller" and people will respect them more. HAHAHAHAHA yeah, that works. People w/ bling...be it on their car or person are generally insecure losers.
  • That's why you rarely hear about conservation (environmental, recycling, 'green') issues in the hip-hop community. It's all about the consumption and consumerism.
  • You know how the Taliban and Muslims 'hate' us? And all that? It's mainly because we live in this material world, where we feel free because of all these choices we have for material things making our lives 'better' and 'freer', but in actual fact we live in a consumerist shell which actually stops us from being free. Bling is just another aspect of that consumerist shell, like an iPod or a designer t-shirt. All of them are distractions from what actually matters. So, they see this as a massive setback in terms of the human race, in terms of furthering ourselves as a species instead of as individuals (which, at the end of the day, is counter-productive for our species). Hence the massive hate - they don't want this lifestyle pushed on them, and that's exactly what America are doing. So no, I don't primarily think it's money eating. I think it's consumerism-driving, stopping our species from actually doing anything (ie: getting off Earth, which is totally plausible and possible but we care too much about the newest iTouch model - or even world peace, or a global nation). And secondary to that, yes I do think it's money eating. But money is half the problem anyway. Anyway! That's my rant.
  • I don't particularly like bling but I understand where a lot of the people who are into are coming from. I mean if I was in poverty and came into finally being able to afford things I'd spend like hell.
