Do you consider ABers who spend time on this site more intelligent than the people who hang out in chat rooms? or are these people abusing the purpose of questions and answers?

It depends on the person and the question. if someone comes in here to answer questions on their homework, they aren't learning anything. But asking questions about BIG questions like opinions and world issues, then they are at the right place. Chatrooms are good if you want to have a faced paced conversation with people, but they are less interesting in comparison to the answer bag point system. i like answerbag better for most things though.

No. I consider them people who like being here for whatever reason they choose to be here for. Abuse of the site only comes into it when site rules are being dishonored.

i think some may be because a lot of the questions answered arent exactly everyday questions or cause you to think about things a person normally wouldn't think about

All my friends here are intelligent in my opinion. I've never visited any other social site or "chat room" so I have nothing with which to compare it. I don't hang out with those who "abuse" the purpose of questions and answers..sometimes they come to me in the form of DR's but I'm indifferent to them so no harm done! :)
