  • intolerant maybe?
  • Well for me it is.lol.Honest answer and i know i am gonna get 100 million - points cause there is no right answer for any of these questions.I am very homophobic.
  • Yeah, thats the one. However, i hate the term. I dont wanna get into a debate about the whole gay rights etc, but i do think its kinda sad that there has to be a label to define people, just because of who they are attracted to...
  • not necessarily. my family - the staunch catholic side, is pretty much anti gay marriage and rights and stuff, but for the gay people that they do know, they're not afraid of them. homophobic is more the term for people who are uncomfortable around a person simply because they are aware that the person is gay
  • According to the dictionary and common parlance, yes. However, some argue the point that "phobia" = fear, and say they don't fear LGBT people. However, noted in the definition is both fear and loathing (hatred) of LGBT people. I cut to the chase instead with the words "bigoted," "prejudiced," and/or "hate-filled." These seem to have no ambiguity about them.
  • No. A phobia means you have a fear of something. Ignorance and prejudice is more of a factor in this case.
  • Literally homophobia is "fear of sameness" as in fearing your own gender (think homogenous). The word can also mean someone prejudice against their own gender, regardless of sexual orientation, although it's almost never used in that sense. For someone anti-gay, I prefer the term "ignorant butthole" but that's a personal preference.
  • I know a lot of those who are will argue that "phobe/phobic" technically means to fear...and that they are not "afraid" of homosexuals. But it has come to include those who hate. Because, deep down, I think most people tend to hate that which they fear and don't understand.
  • Nope, because a phobia is a fear...not a belief. :)
  • I believe its very acceptable. They dont like homosexuality so they fear it.
  • Though technically it isn't, it's commonly used as being synonymous with "anti-gay."
  • I believe it an inaccurate term.
