If she is insulting you she is probably jealous. And i believe that we should always forgive our family members because...well, they are all that we have.

Personally I don`t take mean drunks lightly. If you are getting out of control from drinking on a regular basis it is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I have known many people who are like this and I categorically refuse to have anything to do with them once they have one drop of alcohol. And I have no qualms in telling them that they need to deal with their drinking problem. If you are forgiving somebody`s actions, it means the action will not be repeated. It serves no purpose to forgive somebody for doing something if you know damn fine well they are going to do it again.

Forgive , definitely yes. Trust and allow her to insult you, NO! Hold her accountable for her actions, keep her out of your life if you have to, but don't let her get away with it. Forgiveness does not mean allowing her bad behavior.
