If you are in a scenario that seems very realistic but you think may be a dream, try doing a reality check (something that helps you work out if you are dreaming or awake)! There are many of different complexity/reliability/discreteness (you will have to read up on them). a couple of basic ones are - Pinch your nose and try to breath through it (if you succeed, you are dreaming) - Look at analogue clocks (if the hands are missing, you should be dreaming) - Look at digital clocks (if the 10s minutes is greater than 5, you should be dreaming) - Read part of a book, look away, then reread it (if the sentences have changed, you are dreaming) There are many more. You will need to research into 'Lucid Dreams' and 'Reality Checks'' a basic list can be found at: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Lucid_Dreaming:_Induction_Techniques#Reality_checks If you then realise you are dreaming, take advantage of that fact.
