  • I would think that Democrats are mainly the ones who get upset when Barack's middle name is mentioned. It is true that his name is Barack Hussein Obama, though many liberals HATE it when his middle name is mentioned because Hussein is a very common Arab name, and the last name of the Iraqi dictator that President George W. Bush he himself ousted. Democrats also hate when Hussein is mentioned because Arabs are notoriously antagonistic and hostile, and the near exhaustive influence of islam, including the popular teaching of jihad, which renders all islamic pacifistic teachings invalid. Republicans love to mention his middle name because it is Arab and we are fighting arabs and have been since 9/11, or at least since 2001, not to mention numerous other wars in times past.
  • Yes it is his full name and only the libs get upset.
  • Yes. It is his full name. The use of it often precedes an Obama bashing tirade. The problem is that so many people have tried to make an issue of his family history and supposed muslim upbringing that the emphasis on his middle name becomes irksome. Nobody goes around saying John Sidney McCain. He's just McCain or John McCain.
  • I don't feel people should get upset. It is his name. They're al upset beause of the Saddam Hussein thing.
  • While I do not support Obama in any way, I can see why people get upset. The vast majority of the times I have seen it used on sites such as this and other forums, it is done with the intent to imply Obama is a Muslim, and somehow linked to terrorism. Personally, I think that those who use it in that way are ignorant and by doing so only serve to make their so called side look petty and small minded. Just my opinion of course.
  • i think its obvious and *yawn* boring me to tears.
  • Personally I think it's a little suspicious that his middle name is Hussein and his last name is close to Osama........ But that's only me.
  • I don't mind it being mentioned. I'm merely annoyed by it because every time someone bother to write his full name, I know it's because they try to give the impression that he's a terrorist and a muslim extremist, even though many normal and peaceful muslims are called Hussein. I mean, it's obvious when people say his full name that they want to bash him. Noone bothers to say out George walker Bush Jr.'s full name, so why should they do so with Obama if it wasn't to "give him a bad name"?
  • Hussein? Perhaps if Barak is so incredibly muslim, then it may be the answer we need, to fight fire with fire. Middle-name Hussein is just this year's version of 'Obama Bin Laden'... a name that republicans got tired of looking like a tool for saying.
  • There's nothing wrong with saying Senator Obama's full name. Those who do so, though, are usually racists (and/or Republicans) who want to trigger white people's fear and hatred of Black people and Muslims. Once that fear is exploited, those people can be easily manipulated into voting for Senator McCain and 4 more years of the Bush administration. -
  • Because it really makes him sound muslim. His supporters don't want to believe he is.Sure he's denied it,but only he and his family knows for sure.
  • I'll say his full name all day long. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. It's just a name! The reason people get upset is not the use of his full name, it's the ridiculous connection of him to Saddam Hussein that is insinuated by it. Grow up, people!
  • I don't get upset and I don't know anyone who HAS gotten upset. It would just be because of the negative connotation in the West towards Islam.
  • Those who don't want him in office say his entire name to try to convince the gullible that he is a muslim terrorist. They can't play the race card, so they try to exploit people's fear of muslims. It's pretty juvenile if you ask me. But, unfortunately, the gullible believe such rubbish.
  • Here is a quote from a McCain supporter i got in a small debate with. "...and truth is Obama is not an American name, it resembles names of individuals we have identified as our enemies. Sorry but my instincts tell me its more than just a coincedence, but if Americans can fall for BUSH&DICK i guess its no surprise we can fall for this...." I'm like WHAT?! a persons name given at birth is not their choice, to suggest he change it because its a name YOU dont hear often enough... that is so absurd and lacks respect for human decency. Plus, McCain mirrors bush' policies so I didnt understand his "americans can fall for bush&dick" statement. Something is seriously wrong with people these days... All the Obama haters and their "instincts" are so childish. Try using your head and choosing whats best for the country, not for your party preference.
  • Its not his name that upsets people, its the way people say it/type it (trying to hint that he's a muslim or a terriosit). Its immature.
  • It is the way some say it....that can be offensive. I am a Hilary supporter and now a Barack supporter. I am not affiliated with the Democratic Party but feel he would be the best to hold the position of who is running at this time. I went to one Democratic gathering, watching returns on a primary election. There was an older couple that I went up to introduce myself to and the woman told me how Barack HUSSEIN Obama was a Islamic extremist that was brought in to take over America...she went on and on...feeding off all of the fallacies that paranoid people have put out there..In my mind I wanted to get everyone's attention and tell them all that her husband was cheating on her....then tell her to try to convince people that it was a lie....and that no matter how she tried to correct the misinformation there would always be some that would believe me....instead I headed out the door...I don't like to hang with people like them
  • I don't get upset when they say his whole name, but when they call him by his middle name only it bugs the hell out of me. I feel that they are trying to associate him with Saddam and make people afraid of him. It bugs me to no end. I feel that they are insulting the intelligence of the average American by trying to use fear tactics to sway people to their way of seeing things because they have no actual tangible reason to fear him.
  • I think they don't like the obvious similarities between obama's names and the names of out countries enemies. hey it is what it is
  • It's called being the party of inclusion and tolerance,. .
  • Are you also in the habit of calling the current president George Walker Bush? Didn't think so.
  • People only use his middle name in an ignorent attempt to connect him with islam. To bad he's not connected to terrorists. I mean when a former member Army General, and member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and fromer Secretery of State, says he's got what it takes to be the Commander-in-Chief I'll trust his judgement, oer the judgement of Bill "I don't know his middle name so we'll just call him Hitler" O'Rielly.
