Almost all living beings create their own social structures.....these are meant to help each other in times of stress and enjoy life together.....they are also to "regulate" interaction among those living beings.......it is not only people. If we observe mother nature closely, we would find that even irrational animals have a way of treating each other, specially their young, in a way that shows that the sum of all is better than one.....hence the saying, no man is an island....

I wasen't sure when I submitted the question but after giving it some thought I believe the answer is God.

Because life is nothing without other people. By nature we humans are communal creatures. We thrive off of interactions and therefore we either consciencely or subconsciencely judge our lives and the lives of others off of relationships with others
