Why do weathermen seem to root for record breaking temperatures(hot or cold)? It usually means a lot of people will be really uncomfortable!

I know! And they practically orgasm over as hurricane. It's crazy. Weather people are nuts, that's all there is to that.

Because its exciting. Bad weather is something to talk about. Record weather is something to talk about... Makes their job less boring :p

My favorite was on the radio this morning, they claimed it was only going to be 90 today. And then, casually, less than five minutes later... It was up to record breaking temperatures and heat index. I think they willed it to happen!
