  • I would say Asian. But the Philippines are islands in the Pacific ocean.
  • The Philippines is considered a South-East Asian country in the western Pacific Ocean. So, I guess that it makes Filipinos both Asian and Pacific Islanders. It should be noted that Filipinos are a part of a linguist family group that streaches from Malayasia, and Indonesia to Hawaii, Easter Island, and New Zealand that is called the Malayo-Polynesian.
  • when they're angry only Asian and when they calm down they're also Pacific.
  • Actually, Filipinos have roots in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, India, and was a colony of Spain for more than 200 years. The Philippines is a central hub of Southeast Asia, and geographical and culturally is closer to Asia than Oceania (Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia). RE: Pacific Islanders - There has been recent evidence in China pointing to the theory that Pacific Islanders came from Asia originally, that Chinese maritime travelers ventured across the Pacific Ocean more than 5,000 years ago, so Pacific Islanders would be descended from Asians. I discuss it in more depth here: http://carlosrull.com/2008/03/19/are-filipinos-asian/
