You're reading I take lysine tablets when I get coldsores. The bottle says two tablets dailey with food. What happens if I take more than two tablets per day with food? Can you 'overdose' on lysine? If you can 'overdose', what happens to you?

Thanks for that, after posting this question I finally found a site that answered most of my questions, except about overdose limits. And you have answered that. Apparently I should be taking about 2500 to 3000 mg on a daily basis and increase that, in the unlikely event of coldsores forming, to about 4000 mg daily. I get coldsores on the cornea of my eye which is extremely painful and robbing of sight in that eye.
