Take pictures to blackmail him with when he becomes a mouthy teenager. It's not the end of the world it will grow back. I definitely wouldn't go back to that shop anymore though.

Well, you can't go back in time, so that's out. You should keep his lovely locks and put them in the baby book, and next time you take him in (or yourself, for that matter) make sure the person knows what you want before they put scissors to use. His bald spots will grow out, but it probably won't be curly anymore, so I hope you have a lot of pictures of it from before.

I had the same thing happen to my toddler yesterday. My mom took him (she usually does, as she watches him during the week while I work) and explained to the lady that we just wanted a trim on the top and sides, but to leave his curls in the back. She wasn't paying attention to what the lady was doing and when she looked back, she had cut off his curls on one side of the back of his head. It's about 1" long all around, but b/c he has curly hair it looks like it's going in all directions and sticking up funny in a lot of places. And now he has "bangs" like Jim Carrey in Dumb & Dumber. I know it'll grow out, but it will honestly take 6-12 months for it to get to the length it was at before the haircut lady did a whack job on it. No more blonde curls, and his birthday is coming up in a few weeks. :( I asked my mom if she actually had to pay for that horrible cut, and she did. I wouldn't have if I were her.

It's a bad hair cut. Happens to everyone at one point in time. Hair grows. And if $13.00 is a lot of money to you...well that sucks.
