There may have been some, but for the most part, no. The point of the Jewish religion is to remind fellow Jews that they were once oppressed and slaves themselves. Jews were led out of bondage and that is the celebration of Passover. I believe Jews are humble about their freedom (think of how much they've gone through . . .) So, no, it is very unlikely.

The answer is yes. The Torah even includes rules on the treatment of slaves. Then there is Deuteronomy 20:11-14 "If they open the gates and surrender, they are all to become your slaves and serve you"

Yes, but slavery for the Jews was very different than most people. It was like employment or paying back a loan. You could sell yourself as a slave and then get your freedom back if you wanted to after so many years or the Jubilee year when everything was returned to each family. So no one was every permanently deprived of their family heritage. And they were always given the chance to stay with their 'master' if they liked working for them. Also, you placed this in Hobbies, not the correct category for this subject. It really helps this database if you try to put the questions in the best possible place so they will get answered and so that others can find them at a later date. But since you didn't, I have moved it into Judaism.
