  • Not usually. I personally would be concerned with a US doctor whose choice of med school was in Mexico or Haiti. These schools generally are easier to get accepted into than American med schools so I would be wondering how good the doctor actually is.
  • shoot i didnt know they had med schools there. i think the same as delany on this.
  • Dr's in the us can attend med schools almost anywhere in the world. the Doctors list the school and degree they earned before passing the boards "here in America" If the people who sit over the board exams find the school to be reputable and the person pass the exams then they have the right to practice medicine here.
  • youre all idiots, (except the dude who mentioned the examination) Postulants for Medical School in Mexico arent chumps, 1.- Local Students need a 3.0 GPA minimum to gain the right to take the test 2.- Foreign Students are require by law to have a higher GPA of 3.5 to gain the right to take the test. 3.- The Entrance tests are: Math and Language, a buttload of questions. Test two, on career pertaining to Natural Sciences: Math, Physics, Biology, Anatomy and Phys, Chemistry. High scores get in, 75% of postulants, REMAIN postulants. 4,- Foreign students must present proof of legal stay in the country and pay out of state tuition, so sorry. Once finished with their Degree "Medico Cirujano y Partero" translated roughly as "Doctor, Surgeon-Midwife" he is now a general practitioner to practice medicine, he must complete 1 year of residence, and 1 year social service, not at the same time, "Especialidades" or specific fields of practice such as Neurology, Hematology or Obstetrician Gynecology are taken apart, in many cases outside the country. Doctors seeking to work in the US must obviously present legal proof of stay, pass the tough USMLC, to be able to practice medicine in the US, Doctors in Mexico have gone on to study Virology, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurology, Endocrinology as far as Denmark, the UK, Spain, France, the Caribbean etc etc.. The Centro Medico de Cardiologia is one the best in Mexico and Latin America, doctors from Europe come to practice there and work. Doctors in Texas have come from medical schools in Mexico, from the Instituto Medico de Cardiologia, these guys are now in charge of the needs of 2 million people who live in Houston I suggest you people inform yourselves "educate yourself before you wreck yourself", one day you might be treated by one of these guys, and youll regret your comments for the longest time.
  • it doesn't matter where they study, they have to pass the US Med boards.
  • Thank you Goldenknave. It is impressive to read the comments of such ignorant people who think too much of themselves.
