  • It may very well be Nature's way of controlling the population, although there is no proven theory as to why homosexuality exists or when it was first encountered.
  • I doubt it, since homosexuals by definition can't reproduce. Although I did read an interesting article a few months back suggesting that women actually may have the ability to produce sperm cells in rare cases. Maybe you're on to something.
  • That question makes no sense whatsoever. Any trait that decreases the number of successful offspring will be selected against. And how can a promiscuous het create homosexuals as the next step?
  • Well, as there have always been homosexuals around as long as there have been humans, I don't really see how we are the "next step in evolution." And, as some people still seem to think it's "nature's way of controlling the population" when we can and DO reproduce, I hardly see how there's really any difference. People, gay, straight or otherwise are going to keep having children. The population still continues to grow.
  • Uhm... no. Considering that homosexuality has been around as long as humans have recorded history, if it was the next step in evolution something would have noticeably changed by now. Also, homosexuality is present in many non-human species such as the Bonobos monkeys.
  • No, I think that is wrong. We can and do reproduce fine thanks. My parents were heterosexual and anything but promiscuous.
  • It's possible in high density / low resource places. What sins?
  • Nothing wrong with a bit of promiscuity.
  • What does being promiscuous have to do with being hetero or homosexual?????
