My dad wanted me to be a nurse. I was kind of close to it, I was a nursing assistant. I want to go to school to be a nurse, but I need to get my kids raised first =)

A doctor, i had the grades too 100% on any biology paper. but the idea of having to put my hand up someones arse, burst massive pustules the size of my head and have do deal with people that are just generally starting to rot while they're still alive didnt apeal for some reason, not sure why.

My dad was a criminal defense attorney and I wanted to follow in that profession, but finances in the 60s prevented me being able to do that. I now work for the highest court in my state, so I think if my dad were alive, he would still be quite proud.

As the child of a missionary for a sect-like denomination no matter what I did it was going to be tied in to the church. At one point when we were little children I wanted to be a missionary pilot and my brother wanted to be a missionary fireman. Things didn't quite turn out that way.

they never made it specific really... my grandfather obviously wanted us all a little bit taller because he measured me every time I went to his house... sad to admit but I stopped growing when he died, sort of.

My parents never encouraged me to do anything past graduating high school. Early on I got better grades then my two older siblings. I got in far less trouble and was generally considered to be "the good one." I think they forgot about me.

Given I almost died at birth, due to a purple face and a umbilical cord noose my own, I think they were too happy that I am alive to impose vocational objectives on me.

My Grandparents wanted me to be a doctor/lawyer, you know, that kinda thing. And maybe i would have considered it at one point, but the fatc that they were always pressuring me about it made me NOT want to be it even more.

My father wanted me to run his company. Not sure my mother cared but she cried and got upset when I told her I wanted to be a Catholic Priest. I ended up a lawyer.

My mother wanted me to be a priest but I flunked latin. Then she settled ona art teacher the art was my idea. I got no farther than substituting one week.in junior high. I did physical jobs all my life and am now disabled.

They wanted me to be responsible, fulfilled, productive, successful, happy, and employed. I don't remember a time when they suggested one field or another for me. but encouraged me to find my own calling and supported me in it.

My parents never told me what they wanted to be when I grew up. I grew up from a poor family and all I wanted to do was to go as far as possible. It was really difficult balancing between work and studies. Thank God I achieved some measure of success.

Rich. And they didn't care whether I did that by getting a high-paying job like a lawyer or by marrying a rich man. I'm more of an artsy type and I haven't married a rich guy, so I didn't live up to their dreams for me. lol
