Is Kevisaurus in the PB? Sorry I'm really curious about your question, and I know this isn't helpful. I doubt you will get PBed for supporting Kevisaurus though. :)
-
What was he PB'ed for?
-
People get PB'd for escalating conflict on Answerbag. Spreading gossip and rumors as though they are true facts. That's what gets the PB for anyone who chooses to engage in that kind of behavior.

What? What happened? Do I want to know? *runs away from all the drama*

You are free to agree with and support whomever you want. Violating the terms of service is what explicitly gets you in the Penalty Box. It doesn't just spontaneously happy. AB Rich doesn't examine your thoughts and deem you unworthy of your account. I am ONLY answering this question because I feel a question like this is confusing and threatening to new users, who miscontrue what the Penalty Box is and why it is issued in the first place. So, Freedom Issues, and others, as long as you play nice, you'll never have to worry about it. *sigh*

Ya know I find it very unusual that everyone seems to be 'pbed for no reason'. Whenever a popular member gets PBed on the site suddenly he/she was 'standing up' to someone, or is 'being silenced'. I find it hilarious, because I know that I personally have been reported more than once and have done and said things on AB that should have gotten me pbed. If I wasn't pbed for these actions, I find it incredibly doubtful that the AB admins suddenly decided to pb someone for no reason. If Kevisaurus was PBed, there was more than likely a good reason for it. I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe he was suspended just for not agreeing with someone. (which this question implies) (Just to make it clear, I'm fairly neutral about this whole 'issue', I don't like any of the parties involved really, so hard to not judge them fairly.) That said... Double edit: I find a new picture for my anti-drama crusade :D.

Jen-Jen, you are of course within your rights to support a friend. It IS possible to do that without attacking others. It's attacks on others, through name-calling, spreading malicious gossip and setting them up as targets that gets the p-box.
-
I doubt if agreeing or disagreeing with anyone will get you PBed. That would kind of defeat the purpose of AB. But I do wonder if several users, who disagreed with what someone says and complained to the staff, if it would result in being PBed?
-
am I missing something here? agree with Kevisaurus about what? I don't think you can be PB'd for agreeing or disagreeing with someone as long as you are not contributing to the drama. But I don't think as ordinary members we really get to see all sides of the picture of what is going on...and I can't form an opinion without knowing all the data..to do so on limited information would be nuts.

Perhaps I am reading this wrong, but it seems to me like the question implies that AB-Staff and/or CLs PB for no reason. . .like for supporting a particular person/group. Clearly, that is not what either is here to do. To answer your question exactly as asked--no, you will not be PBed unless you violate the Terms of Use http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/15 or violate community standards that the AB-Staff has set. Some examples of the lattter that came from a good question by Katelyn http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/772176.

No, it isnt going to get you P/B'd, but if will probably get your unfaily, D/R'd.
-
no you cant get PBed for just agreeing with someone, but i dont know whats happened so i cant really give an opinion.
-
I guess I was gone a lot this weekend and missed out on the drama. So, I don't know what happened. I can't really give you advice....I hate to see tiffs between people on my friend's list. I'm going to stay out of what I don't know about....
-
I hope not. I am a HUGE fan of Kevin's and I miss him dearly.

No, Jen... I don't think agreeing and/or supporting anyone will get you PBed unless that agreeing/supporting means doing the same thing as they did. I don't believe ANYONE was PBed for their support or lack of it at http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/741725 and http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/736007 . I have no clue why he or anyone else would have been PBed, except that I'm sure they crossed the line, somewhere. It HAD to have been pretty strong, and would probably have been expunged from any comment thread, so there's no real way to review it for ourselves and make a decision. I find this as a good thing, because something like this can be very polarizing, and create multiple camps of people who would go to war to make their point known, probably putting even MORE people in the PB, maybe even for life. I can't believe that the AB-Staff would support one user over another. All I've ever seen from them is totally objective respect for ALL. They allow a LOT of stuff on here that I know MANY users would immediately flag and remove, from spats and downright relatively friendly arguments to questions many would LOVE to ban. I've seen high-level and low-level people PBed, and have no idea way. Remember, they see sh-t we don't (especially mass-DRing, and the expunged comments). I would also think about taking a PBed user's thoughts of what happened with a grain of salt. You MUST remember that you are seeing it from their side, and no one else's. Unless you were there and SAW EXACTLY what caused it (you'd have to be looking over their shoulder), then you don't know how objective they are being. Even if you hear directly from anyone else involved, you will not know the whole reason for the PBing... Unless, of course, the staff would tell us, which they will not and SHOULD not do. Agreeing with or supporting someone will not get you PBed. Emulating their actions will. Attacking those who you believe caused the PBing (which would NOT be the case - it would have been the person who was PBed fault) might, too. Taking sides AND perpetuating the argument/diagreement WHILE someone is PBed or even once the PB has been released probably will, too. As I said in another answer to a different type question: Passion with compassion.

What did he do now? Well, I'm sure whatever he did, it was pretty putrid of him to act like that, and would sound like a P-boxable offense to me, if I knew what it was. Anyway, I'm sure he deserved it just as much as anyone else. Oh, but you'll be fine...

I don't know what he did but i doubt you'd get PBed for supporting it. Trolled at most.
