thats right u cant!

I just tried it, I can only get six. Damn.
-
If it was a r eally big piece of paper I would think you could fold it more than that. But I've never tried it either.
-
never tryed it
-
I've tried it before, it's true, 7 is the limit.
-
I can fold an 8 1/2" X 11" piece in half 7 times but the result looks like an odd-shaped wad. If one could fold a .003" thick sheet of paper in half 50 times the resultant thickness would reach from the Earth to the Sun! IIRC, that sheet would have to be as big as North America for the result to be letter size. :o

I've tried that, could never get past 7

I heard it was 9. I think they tried this on Mythbusters and it was true but I didn't catch the whole episode yo... A single piece of paper will have 512 'layers'. That's thicker than a reem of paper that you buy for your printer yo...

See item #2 (white box) at http://www.orangefrogproductions.com/ofp2s_rumors_triv_list002.shtml Oh... And Mythbusters PROVED you can, with the right type/size of paper - http://mythbusters-wiki.discovery.com/page/Seven+Paper+Fold
-
(glances at pile of wads on desk now) Well, after half a reem of printer paper, I say that you cant get past seven with those. But with the right kind of paper, you could..
-
I just folded a bus transfer ten times.

Apparently the answer is 12 times. See:http://www.pomonahistorical.org/12times.htm
